Ditch & Switch: Kids Personal Care Products

Many of you know that my family started using Young Living essential oils in October of last year. After purchasing my Premium Starter Kit and falling in love with the natural health and wellness products Young Living offers, we signed up for Essential Rewards to gain the many benefits associated with that! I say WE because my husband is just as into this Young Living journey as I am, which is super cool and helpful when purchasing these products.

As I started learning more about Young Living, I also started learning about the toxic chemicals I was using in my home, without really being aware of it. In my first Essential Rewards (ER) order, my upline and friend Leigh encouraged me to switch from our current bath time routine products, to a healthier, non-toxic option in Young Living. So that was our first step in trying to switch to a chemical free home! I purchased the KidScents Shampoo and Body Gel for my kids and the Lavender Mint Shampoo and Conditioner and Lavender Oatmeal body bar for myself (Jeremy bought the Sacred Mountain body bar).

This is the first post of a series I am going to start on my blog about the “Ditch and Switch” theory that Young Living can provide as a more natural and non-toxic approach to living.

Ditch & Switch Personal Care for Kids: KidScents Shampoo and Bath Gel

Our skin is the largest organ in our bodies and everything we put on our skin ends up in our system. That super smelly full of toxic product…YES it gets absorbed into your body! Parents, it’s time that we make ourselves more aware of the lotions and body washes we are using and slathering all over our families. Anything that is synthetically or artificially fragranced is a no-no!

Thankfully, Young Living has a wonderful list of options for us when it comes to shampoo/conditioner and body wash! They not only have multiple options for adults, but also for our precious little ones! Check out KidScents line if you have children (I even know adults who use it as well!). The KidScents Shampoo and Bath Gel smell amazing and they have Young Living’s 100% pure essential oils in them!

KidScents Bath Gel is a safe, gentle soap that cleanses and protects sensitive skin. Formulated with MSM, aloe vera, antioxidants, and pure Lemon, Cedarwood, and other essential oils, this liquid soap is pH balanced for children’s skin.

KidScents Shampoo contains no synthetic perfumes, colors, or toxic ingredients. The natural components in this shampoo—aloe, MSM, Chamomile, and Tangerine and Lemon essential oils—effectively and gently cleanse without causing irritation.

KidScents Bath Gel and Shampoo Contain:
-Natural Ingredients
-Therapeutic-grade essential oils
-No mineral oils
-No synthetic perfumes
-No artificial colorings
-No toxic ingredients

Brecken and Annabelle have been using the KidScents Shampoo and Body Gel since mid-November and we still have at least half a bottle left. So at this rate it looks like we will only have to purchase 2 bottles a year. We use a very little bit of each product and the shampoo still lathers very well! It isn’t considered Tear Free, but my kids have never complained of their eyes hurting or any pain related to either soap. And trust me, they would tell me if it bothered them!

Annabelle and Brecken are constantly getting compliments on their hair and I believe that the KidScents shampoo makes their hair manageable and extremely shiny (as well as smell good too)!

    Abigail,
Thank you for sharing this information. As a nurse, mother, and grandmother I find these products a wonderful health benefit! We may not be able to eliminate all toxins from our environment but we can do our best to reduce them from our children’s lives.
Thank you again for your effort to educate!
